About these terms
These terms apply to the public pages of the DMSU portal, run by DMSU, the Data Management Support Unit of the Malawi Liverpool Wellcome Research Programme (MLW). By using the portal you agree to them.
What the portal is for
The portal gives MLW staff, study teams, collaborators and the public information about the unit's services, a directory of DMSU systems, the document bank, the team directory and routes to the DMSU helpdesk.
DMSU systems and sign-in
The systems listed on the portal are for authorised users only. DMSU grants access according to your role on a study. You must not try to reach systems or data you have not been given access to.
Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us straight away through the DMSU helpdesk if you think someone else has used them. Each system is also subject to its own rules and to the protocol of the study it serves.
Acceptable use
When you use the portal, you must not:
- disrupt or overload it, or try to get around its security;
- probe, scan or test it for vulnerabilities without our written permission;
- upload or send anything that contains malicious code;
- copy content from it in bulk by automated means; or
- use it in a way that breaks the law or misrepresents MLW.
Information on this site
We provide the information on the portal in good faith and try to keep it accurate and up to date. The study figures are drawn automatically from the DMSU project register and change as the register changes.
Standards, SOPs and policies in the document bank are controlled documents. Always use the version currently published there.
Intellectual property
The content of the portal, including text, documents and the MLW name and logo, belongs to MLW or to the people who created it. You may not use the MLW name or logo without permission. Some photographs are used under their owners' licences.
Links to other sites
The portal links to sites we do not control, such as the MLW website, Office 365 and Google Maps. We are not responsible for their content or for how they handle your information.
Availability
We aim to keep the portal available, but we may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it, for example for maintenance. Please report problems through the DMSU helpdesk.
Liability
As far as the law allows, MLW is not responsible for loss or damage arising from your use of the public pages of the portal or from reliance on information published on them.
Privacy
Our privacy policy explains how we handle information about you when you use the portal.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malawi.

We may update these terms and will change the “last updated” date when we do. Questions about them can be sent to sdsm@mlw.mw.
